8 Easy Steps
1. Getting A Life Insurance Quote From The Life Agency The simplest and easiest part is getting a life insurance quote using the Instant Term Life Quote Engine. Once the information is completed on the input page and the "Compare Now" button is clicked, the life insurance product comparison page is displayed. The Health Analyzer can help you determine what underwriting class you may qualify for.
2. Start The Life Insurance Application Process
Click the Request Application from the product comparison page.
3. Phone Call
After you submit the Request Application form, you will be contacted by a licensed life insurance agent from The Life Agency to verify your request and review the details of your medical history.
4. Completing your Life Insurance Application
The process of completing the life insurance application may vary by company. Many of our life insurance companies offer electronic applications with digital signatures allowing you to complete 100% of the application on line in the privacy of your home. We use technology that allows you to complete most life insurance applications by phone and web conference. A personal visit by a life insurance agent is not required but may be available if desired.*
5. Scheduling you Medical Exam
In most cases an appointment will be arranged for a licensed Nurse, para-med or a doctor to visit with you to perform a mini physical exam called a para medical exam. The exam can takes place at your home, office or the branch office of the local exam company. The extent of the exam is determined by the age and the amount of insurance you are applying for. At the very least, the exam will include height/weight, labs (blood draw and urine specimen) and a blood pressure check. The cost of the exam is covered by the insurance carrier.
6. Underwriting Review
The results of your para medical exam and the application are sent to the insurance company for underwriter review. The time it takes to complete the underwriting process is determined by how quickly the insurance carrier can gather all the necessary information needed to make an informed decision. This may include obtaining medical records from your physicians. The Life Agency will communicate with you on regular basis to keep you informed during the underwriting process.
7. Insurance Company Offer
After underwriting is complete, your agent will contact you to review the insurance company's offer (actual underwriting class). You will have the option to adjust the benefit amount or product type before policy issue if you desire. You may also choose to decline the company's offer. You are not obligated to pay any of the underwriting expenses incurred by the company.
8. Policy Delivery
Your life insurance policy will be issued by the company and sent to The Life Agency. Arrangements will be made for policy delivery and payment. The policy is placed in force when all the delivery requirements and initial premium are received by the life insurance company.
